Auburn, NY - Bring Dad to Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall on Father's Day Sunday, June 15 and compete in the all new "Dad's Day" competition. Six events to be held will be: Bull's Eye Casting, Decoy Throwing, Knot Tying, Hot Wing Eating, Antler Toss and BB Gun Competition. A dad/son or dad/daughter team can win prizes for each competition and overall Team Champion.
Also, Dad can be treated to lunch with a Johnsonville Brat and Coke product for only $1 each.
Event runs from 11 am to 4 pm, and contestants must sign up at customer service by 10:30 am. Cost is free and each competition will pay a $25 Bass Pro gift card and the overall winning team will win a card for each member.

Outdoor Photography Skills Workshop June 20 & 21 at Bass Pro Shops
Auburn, NY - If you have a camera and would like to learn more information on how to take better pictures of that trophy deer, bald eagle, your son's or daughter's first fish or a flock of ducks out on the water, then Bass Pro Shop's Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall has got an event for you. On Friday, June 20 and on Saturday, June 21, professional photographer Glen Gaston will conduct a two- day outdoor skills workshop on outdoor photography. Gaston will cover such topics as basic outdoor photography tips, camera care, photo composition and use of digital cameras.
The Friday night inside class will start at 6:00 pm and be held in the seminar room located up over the mall food court with the entrance next to the pizza shop. The second part of the class will begin at 8 am on Saturday in the field. Students can register by stopping into the store and signing up at the Customer Service Department or by calling 315/258-2700 and asking for the Customer Service counter. Anyone attending a class needs to be in the seminar area 5-10 minutes before the start of the first class. Cost of the course is $25, due to instructor at first class.
The third annual Owasco Airfield Days will be held August 6th-10th, 2008. There will be an open fly in at the Airfield from Wednesday to Sunday, for all types of aircraft. A spot landing event is scheduled for Saturday. On Sunday, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 811 from Ithaca, NY, will be hosting a Young Eagles Rally.
The EAA Young Eagles is a program designed to introduce young people to aviation. Eligible young people ages 8 to 17 will take part in an hour long ground school followed by a flight with an EAA volunteer pilot. For more information on the Young Eagles program, go to www.eaa.org.
On both Saturday and Sunday, the Long Hill Fire Department will be providing a BBQ lunch and dinner menu from 11:00 am. The local Boy Scout troop from Moravia will also be selling fresh baked goods and ice cream. A hot air balloon is scheduled to be at the event this year for the first time. The public is invited.
Fly or drive in to enjoy the fun! Owasco Airfield is located at 3900 Long Hill Road in Moravia, NY. From Rt. 34, go east on Long Hill Road from Venice Center. The Airfield will be on your right. From Rt. 38 in Moravia, go west on Aurora Street. Aurora Street turns into Long Hill Road after going over the Owasco Inlet bridge. The airfield will be on your left. Handicap parking and open field camping will be available.

TELL ME MORE® Online is now available from the Electronic Database Language Instruction link on www.flls.org Learn though multimedia interactive lessons in the library, at work, or home any time of day. Requirements include: Microsoft Windows® 95/98 and up, Internet Explorer 5.0 or later version, and headphones, speakers, and microphone for the speech recognition component. You must download Auralog components, including Adobe Flash Player, available through the Auralog Computer Test link.

You could call it "The Big Game Eve" event or Cayuga Lake Wine Trail's Mardi Gras. Either way, Saturday, February 2 from 9 to 6 pm, sixteen wineries around Cayuga Lake will be in high spirits with their Mardi Gras event and festivities. The ticketed-event offers participants, a food and wine sampling at each winery, Mardi Gras beads and great wines to stock your cellar with...tickets are available through the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail or at Wegmans stores. Costumes are encouraged!
